Over the Easter period, High Chelmer Shopping Centre gave shoppers the opportunity to ‘rabbit on’ in style as part of their Easter promotion!
During the Easter bank holiday weekend, High Chelmer’s Easter bunnies could be found in and around the Centre handing out Easter eggs, along with competition entry forms offering the chance to win the latest in mobile phone technology.
High Chelmer’s ‘Rabbit On’ promotion gave shoppers the chance to win an ultra stylish SIM-free LG KF600, courtesy of Phones 4u. The LG KF600 features touchscreen technology, 3.0 megapixel camera, MP3 player, video recording facility and touch control games. What’s more, it recently won the iF Product Design Award 2008!
The Centre was inundated with entries from people hoping to get their paws on this egg-citing prize! The lucky winner, chosen at the beginning of April, was Jane Tween from Chelmsford. Jane, and her son Craig, were presented with their prize by Mick McDonagh (Centre Manager, High Chelmer) and Bill Britton (Training Manager, Phones 4u). |

| High Chelmer's Floor Show |
On Sunday 18th November High Chelmer Shopping Centre invited shoppers to attend their Floor Show Extravaganza!
The event was held to mark the unveiling of High Chelmer's all-new Central Square area, including the reveal of the recently tiled floor featuring an abstract replication of Chelmsford’s three rivers.
The floor tiles, sourced from Spain, cover an area of 769 square metres with a staggering 58 cubic metres of concrete laid beneath them. Energy efficient lights, sourced from Italy, have also been installed.
Many of the fixtures and fittings of the old Butterflies café were recycled or sold with proceeds going to the Helen Rollason Hill Cancer Charity, raising over £1,000! The works have included the introduction of a new café - Starbucks - as well as a new retail unit which has recently opened as the Fragrance Shop.
So enormous was the renovation of Central Square, it took 6 months to complete, cost £1/2 Million and filled skips to the volume of 401 cubic yards! These renovations to the Centre represent the first phase of the continued refurbishments planned for High Chelmer.
During High Chelmer's Floor Show Extravaganza, 300 square metres of coloured silk covered the three rivers design and were then removed in a spectacular display at the beginning of the show. To celebrate the reveal and the new-look Central Square, Celtic Feet River Dancers then performed a series of choreographed Irish dances, to the delight of hundreds of on looking shoppers that encircled the Square.
In association with High Chelmer's Floor Show Extravaganza, the Centre gave shoppers the opportunity to win £500 to spend in any of their stores, just in time for Christmas! |
